JoAnn Quimby Reed, 76

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  JoAnn (Quimby) Reed, 76 of North Adams, MA died on Friday May 12, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in North Adams, MA on April 21, 1947,a daughter of Cecil M. and Marjorie (Dow) Quimby. She graduated from the Drury High School.

JoAnn was last employed at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she worked until her retirement. She also worked at the Four Acres Motel and at Sprague Electric Co.

In her younger years, JoAnn was involved in 4-H. She enjoyed golfing and bowling and was in several leagues. She was an avid sports fan and followed the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. JoAnn was a loving mother, nana, sister and friend

She was the widow of Richard Hazen Reed who died on November 26, 2017. They were married on June 22, 1968. Survivors include two sons- Brian H. Reed (Katie Goodermote) of North Adams and James L. Reed (Rick Wormuth) of Ocala, FL. She also leaves two grandchildren- Brayden Reed and Jase Reed; two sisters- Linda Quimby of North Adams and Dorothy Heath of Great Barrington; two brothers- Steven Quimby of North Adams and Donald Quimby of Hancock and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Quimby. JoAnn's family would like to thank the staff on the oncology floor at Berkshire Medical Center for their support.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for JoAnn Reed will be held Wednesday May 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Northern Berkshire EMS or the Renal Dialysis Unit at BMC in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
