Maxwell N.G. Williamson, 73

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Maxwell N.G. Williamson, 73, of Adams, died Wednesday evening, April 5, 2023 at his home. He was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland on September 6, 1949, a son of the late Alexander and Margaret (Duthie) Williamson. He came to the United States as a child with his family, settling in Lee, MA, and attended Lee High School.

He last worked at the former James River Paper Co. in Adams for several years. Earlier, he worked at the Mountain Mill division of Westfield Paper Co. in Lee for many years and was assistant plant manager when the mill closed.

Max loved working on cars and enjoyed doing auto body work and repairing old cars for many years and was a member of the Piston Poppers Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen M. Battis, whom he married on February 28, 1987; sons Scott Williamson of Orlando, FL, Jason Soha and his wife, Doreen, of Cheshire; Matthew Soha and his wife, Kristen of Galion, OH; Jesse Soha of Stamford, VT and Joseph Soha and his wife, Heather of Columbus, OH; his sister Laura Shaffer of Clinton, MA; his brother Stuart Williamson and his wife Christine of Lee; his sister- and brother-in-law, Nancy and Mickey Biagini of Cheshire; his grandchildren Katelynn Williamson; Evan, Avery, Levi, and Spencer Soha; Jamie Soha, Ashley Soha, and Jackson Soha, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two daughters, Jennifer and Janie Williamson, and by a son, Russell Williamson.

Special thanks to the hospice care nurses Missy, Meghan, and Lindsey, our social worker.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 12 Noon in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Rev. Michael Mullany, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Adams will officiate. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the service at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
