Bruce W. Cunningham

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. —  Bruce Winthrop Cunningham, 77, of Lanesborough, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023. 

He was born in Pittsfield on October 8, 1945, to Winthrop Henry and Eva Knight Cunningham. Bruce was a graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School. He married his sweetheart, Janet, in June of 1971. He was a mechanic by trade, working at various dealerships for over 30 years. Later he was employed at Hancock Shaker Village. 

Bruce enjoyed residing on the shore of Pontoosuc Lake, which he did for his entire life. He often spent time outside admiring the view and found joy in a daily drive around the lake in his truck. He also enjoyed woodworking, riding his ATV, and camping with his wife and dog, Barkley. Bruce loved a good cup of coffee. 

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Janet Cunningham. He is also survived by his daughter, Pamela Babcock; his sister, Linda (Charles) Gamba; and his grandchildren, Alex Babcock and Delaney Babcock. He also leaves his “buddy,” Barkley. He was predeceased by his son, Brian Cunningham.

Funeral Notice: A private family burial will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made out to the Berkshire Humane Society and mailed to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
