Helen Roemelt, 94

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mrs. Helen Mary (Strzepek) Roemelt, 94, of Bennington, formerly of Adams, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

She was born in Adams on August 24, 1928, daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Betleja) Strzepek. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where she had also been a member of the Rosary Sodality.

Her husband of 70 years, Herbert R. Roemelt, whom she married on June 14, 1947, died on May 3, 2018.

She is survived by her two grandsons, Michael Roemelt and his wife Edda and Bryan Roemelt all of Glenville, NY.; three great grandchildren, Jason, Bennett and Juliette Roemelt; her daughter in law, Denise Roemelt; her son in law Brant Young and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Paul Roemelt, her daughter, Maryellen Young and by her brother Matthew Strzepek.

The funeral will be held on Monday, January 9th at 11:00 A.M. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
