Florence Bua, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Florence Josephine (Bobowiec) Bua, 85 of North Adams, MA died on Friday November 11, 2022 at Southwestern VT Medical Center in Bennington with her family by her side.

She was born in Adams, MA on May 2, 1937, a daughter of Stanley and Nellie (Walach) Bobowiec. She graduated from Adams High School with the class of 1955.

Florence worked at the former Sprague Electric Co from 1955 to 1970 and then worked at Cascade School Supplies where she did data entry from 1970 until her retirement in 2001. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.

Flo could often be seen out in the yard cutting the grass and weeding her flowers. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling on family vacations and trips to the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband- Salvatore M. "Sam" Bua whom she married on October 6, 1956 and one daughter- Lisa M. (Bruce) Marko of North Adams and one stepson- Mark Streeter of East Longmeadow, MA. She also leaves two grandchildren- Eric (Olivia) Marko of Arlington, VT and Stephanie Marko of Brooklyn, NY; two great grandchildren- Joel and Eva; one sister- Frances (Jack) Jamros of Adams, MA and nieces and nephews. Her sister, Alice Davis is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Florence Bua will be celebrated Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours AT THE CHURCH are Wednesday from 9-11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Elizabeth in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247. To Sam and Lisa, I was so sorry to read of Flo's passing. She was always so pleasant and easy to work with at Cascade and certainly kept the place running with her incredibly speedy data entry! She was certainly proud of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, deepest sympathy to your family.

Lisa, You have my heart felt sympathy. Your mom was so wonderful to me during our high school years. She always made me feel like I was part of your family, I have such wonderful memories of our trip to NYC to see Hello Dolly with your Mom and Dad.
