Nancy Josephine Andreatta, 95

Nancy Josephine (Giusti) Andreatta passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022. She was born in North Adams on April 7, 1927, the daughter of Americo & Anna (Brocchi) Giusti. She attended local schools, and graduated from Drury High School. Nancy worked for the Telephone Company prior to her marriage.

She was lovingly called "Aunt Nance" by her many nieces and nephews, and even some friends and neighbors. She loved family above all else; she also loved her church and her city of North Adams. She enjoyed looking out her kitchen window and admiring the beautiful Berkshires every day.

She married Robert (Bobby, Unc, Coach) Andreatta Jr on November 5, 1949. He was the true love of her life for 72 years; she happily took care of their home, and Bobby, until he preceded her in death. Together, they were an incredible team, continually helping others. Their kitchen table was the gathering spot for family members and friends, and they provided delicious food and a warm welcome. Aunt Nance always had the kettle on her stove, ready for the next family member or friend to stop by for tea. She was one of the original farm-to-table cooks, without exception preparing the freshest food with the freshest ingredients. Nancy was known to be a terrific cook, if you ever had her homemade soup, you were lucky. Nancy constantly provided love, guidance, and sound wisdom to her nieces and nephews, and had a profound positive influence on their lives.

Nancy was a communicant of St Elizabeth of Hungary Parish. She was active in the parish, often providing a helping hand. For many years, she chaired the White Elephant booth at the annual Parish Bazaar, raising thousands of dollars in her efforts alongside booth co-workers.

Survivors include her many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Oreste Guisti, Alcide Giusti, and Dante Francis Giusti.

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family

Our sympathy goes out to Nancy’s family. She was a good friend to my mom, JoAnn Maselli. The two of them worked for many years on the White Elephant table. Through that work, they formed a nice friendship. May she Rest In Peace.

Anyone that had the pleasure and honor of knowing Nancy is a better person for it. She was always kind and generous, loved having company, and was so entertaining when sharing memories about her childhood, her beloved mother, father and brothers, and the love of her life, Bob. This neighborhood will not be the same without her.
