Phyllis Norcross, 79

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Phyllis Mary (Garofano) Norcross, 79 of North Adams, MA died Monday October 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in North Adams, MA on December 5, 1942, a daughter of James and Anna C. (Blanquart) Garofano. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.

Phyllis was last employed as an assistant manager at Cumberland Farms in North Adams. She had been a secretary for Attorney Neil Giroux and at North Adams Regional Hospital and later owned and operated Phyl's Variety on Summer Street in Adams. She also assisted her husband in the operation of Norcross Garage Doors and Swimming Pools and in real estate management. Phyllis and Charlie enjoyed their winters in Bradenton, Florida for over 20 years.

Phyllis loved to cook and entertain with family and friends. She was known for baking the best apple pies and entered pie contests at the Aggie Fair. She was the life of the party and enjoyed her Friday Bingo nights. Phyllis was loved by her children's friends, many of whom called her "Mom", and she was always willing to help those in need. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles Peter Norcross whom she married on October 13, 1962 and one daughter- Debra (John) DiLorenzo and one son- Michael (Tracey) Norcross of North Adams. She also leaves her grandchildren- Alyssa (Scott) Sherman; Kami (Alex) Morse and Rileigh Norcross; her great granddaughter- Kinsey Sherman; two sisters- Anne Delisle and Natalie Taylor; two brothers in law- William (Debra) Norcross and Robert (Lauren) Norcross and nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Per her request, services for Phyllis will be private.
