B. Isabelle Girard, 98

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mrs. B. Isabelle (Langlois) Girard, 98, of Adams, died on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Adams on July 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Dr. Elie and Blanche Langlois. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. She was an avid card player, playing any card game, especially cribbage. She also loved trips to the casinos with her late husband and her children.

Her husband, Harold V. Girard, whom she married on October 26, 1946, died on May 18, 2012.

She is survived by five sons, Donald Girard and his wife Virginia of Adams, Victor Girard of Florida, MA, Joseph Girard of North Adams, William Girard and his wife Rosalie of Cheshire, and Gerald Girard and his wife Sharon of Adams; four daughters, Donna Cwalinski and her husband Stanley of Adams, Mary Swift and her husband Thomas of Lee, Emelie Dionne and her husband Jean of Florida, MA and Marguerite Robare and her companion Jeff Gaffey of Adams; twenty two grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandson Bryce Robare and by four sisters, Bernice Wiencek, Beatrice Wood, Helen Gravelle and Connie Weiss.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 24th at 10:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.

Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Memorial donations may be made to the Perkins Library, in gratitude for the many hours of their free talking books service, 175 N Beacon St, Watertown, MA 02472; Adams Boy Scout Troop 38, 8 Notch Rd., Adams, MA 01220 or to the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research 43 Stewart Terrace, Belmont, MA 02478.
