Alice Jarisch, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Alice C. (Jeanton) Jarisch, 90, of North Adams, died Sunday morning, Oct. 16, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in North Adams on Dec. 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Cassidy) Jeanton, and attended North Adams schools, graduating from Drury High School as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1949, and from Becker Junior College in 1951.

Mrs. Jarisch worked as the office manager at the former Jarisch Paper Box Co. In North Adams until retiring. Earlier, she had worked in the office at the former Ralston-Purina Co. in North Adams.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and had been a longtime, active communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She was an avid reader and a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. Her husband, Alfred R. Jarisch, President of Jarisch Paper Box Co., whom she married on October 5, 1957, died on February 14, 1982.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jarisch of North Adams; her sister, Mary Ellen Dean of North Adams, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne McDonough, and by a brother, Alfred Jarisch.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8:45 a.m. at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
