James Reid,74

 

 

James Walter Reid, 74, of Adams died on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

James was born in Pittsfield, MA on December 18, 1947 in Pittsfield MA a son of the late Margaret & Charles (Murray) Reid. He attended schools in Dalton, including Wahconah Regional High School where he was the captain of his football team. James then graduated from Nichols College with a degree in Business where he was also a member of the football team.

James was a veteran of the US Marines Corp during the Vietnam War. He was employed throughout his career as a commercial loan officer. James was a huge Notre Dame Fan, New York Giants Fan and was a member of the Irish American Club in Pittsfield.

James was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Ann (Trimarchi) Reid whom he married June 5, 1971. She died on March 1, 2020. He is survived by his three children, Melanie (Reid) Rancourt and her husband David of Adams, MA, Michael Reid and his wife Nev of Amherst, MA and Matthew Reid and his wife Christine of Walpole, MA. He also leaves three grandchildren including James Rancourt, David Rancourt and Timothy Reid, as well as four great grandchildren, brother Thomas Reid of Dalton, MA. He was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth O’Brien, Mary Clarkson and brother John “Jack” Reid.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of James Reid will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
