Mary Iris DiLorenzo, 97
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Mary Iris (Barrett) DiLorenzo, 97 of Clarksburg, MA died on Sunday September 4, 2022 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in North Adams, MA on February 6, 1925, a daughter of William J. Barrett Sr. and Pauline (Brassard) Barrett. Iris attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School.
She was last employed for twenty years as an internal auditor at the North Adams Hoosac Savings Bank. Iris was an active communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Parish Council and St. Anthony Rosary Society. Iris was a member of the Clarksburg Council on Aging and the Retired Women's Bowling League. She found great enjoyment in golfing, cooking and playing Suduko.
She was the widow of Joseph Ralph DiLorenzo who predeceased her on February 22, 2002. They were married on April 3, 1948 in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Iris is survived by her loving children; daughters Cynthia DiLorenzo, Capt. US Navy, Ret. of Colorado Springs, CO and Mary Beth (David) Betti of Mundelein, IL and son Joseph William (Lou) DiLorenzo of Waterford, VT. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Anna DiLorenzo, Emily Hunter, Brian Betti, Mark Betti , Patrick Betti, Tricia Murtoff and Jonathan Morrison and five great-grandchildren, Lennon Clifford, Rowan Hunter, Leia Gilding, Peter Gilding and Isabelle Morrison and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two siblings, Zane Charron and “Sonny” Barrett.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Iris DiLorenzo will be celebrated Saturday September 10, 2022 at 8:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemterry. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4-7 PM.
