Janeen L. Marko, 79

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mrs. Janeen L. (Elam) Marko, 79, of Adams, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Whitehall, NY on February 11, 1943, a daughter of the late Eric Elam and Betty (Burdett) Elam Garrand and attended schools in Whitehall. She had lived in Adams since 1967.

Janeen was a homemaker most of her life but had worked as a nurse’s aide at Glens Falls Hospital and at the former Adams Nursing Home in Adams. She had also worked at the Bingo games at the Adams Lodge of Elks. She enjoyed playing Bingo and had also written many books over the years.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel F. Marko, whom she married on March 4, 1967; her son, Daniel J. Marko and his companion Lisa Stant of Williamstown; her daughter, Deana Marko of Adams; a sister, Judith McCollum of Tamarack, FL; four grandchildren including Seth Marko, Hanna Price and her husband, Michael; Brady Marko and Shawn Marko; one great granddaughter, Jesse Ann Price; her in-laws, Jean and Edward Dolle, Edward and Joan Marko, Richard and Judy Marko, Stephen and Susan Marko and James and Cecilia Marko; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Richard Garrand.
