Peter J. Demastrie III

SAVOY, Mass. —  Mr. Peter James Demastrie III, 58, of Savoy, died Friday morning, April 8, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was born in North Adams on February 11, 1964, a son of the late Peter J. Demastrie, Jr. and Lillian M. (Whalen) Demastrie. He attended local schools, graduating from C.H. McCann Technical High School in 1982. He received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, and earned his Master’s degree in computer systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Pete worked as a senior advanced software engineer at General Dynamics in Pittsfield since 1998. Earlier, he had worked at the former Beloit Corp. in Dalton. He attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting clocks, watches and art. He is survived by his daughter, Nichole Demastrie of Savoy; his nephew, James Demastrie of Adams; his longtime partner, Nancy Ellsworth, with whom he resided; as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, William Demastrie, in 2007. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 12 Noon in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours are Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service, in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Nancy: So sorry to hear of this. Our hearts hurt because yours hurts. Please, know that his suffering is no more and he'll always live within your heart. Keep the good memories always close by. He would've wanted you to cherish those happy times.
