William "Chief" Lanoue, 73

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. William “Chief” A. Lanoue, 73, of North Adams, died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in Greenfield on December 29, 1948, son of the late Arthur and Romelda (Gamache) Lanoue. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School.

Mr. Lanoue was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Navy until receiving his honorable discharge on September 20, 1972.

Mr. Lanoue worked locally throughout Berkshire County for many years serving the majority of his professional career at the Beloit Jones Company in Dalton.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed working on them as much as he enjoyed driving them.

He is survived by his wife, the former Cynthia Cichy, whom he married on May 9, 1970; his son Rodd Lanoue and his wife Jennifer of Adams; his grandson Brodie Lanoue of Adams and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Janice Mariani.

Funeral services and burial will be private for the family.

There are no calling hours.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of William Lanue. I knew William for a long time he was a nice guy and would always speak to anyone. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
