Norman W. Kleiner Sr, 78

ADAMS, Mass. —  Norman Walter Kleiner Sr, 78 of Adams, MA died Thursday February 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Adams, MA on October 16, 1943, a son of Walter and Elsie (Geisler) Kleiner. He attended Adams schools.

Norman was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Mass National Guard where he was a tank commander.

He was first employed by Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. and then worked at General Electric for 20 years. He then owned and operated Norm's Gun Shop for several years and was last employed by Air-Tite Holders. Following his retirement, he devoted his time to caring for his wife, Carol.

Norman was a member of Berkshire Hills 7th Day Adventist Church. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Berkshire County and a member of the Blue Knights. Norm was a licensed gun smith and a proud member of the NRA. He enjoyed collecting guns, bowling, snow-mobiling and riding his motorcycle.

His wife was Carol Mildred (Goddard) Kleiner who died on October 29, 2020. They were married on May 23, 1964. Survivors include one daughter- Laurie J. (Steven) Sobon of Cheshire; and one son- Norman W. "Chip" Kleiner Jr. of Adams and five grandchildren- Cory (Rebecca) Sobon; Nathan (Amanda) Sobon; Kyle, Brooke and Ava Kleiner. He also leaves one sister- Gladys Montgomery of Cheshire; one brother- Kenneth Kleiner of Fremont, NH and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother- Betty Lou Pyra and Donald Kleiner.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Norman Kleiner will be Friday March 4, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Berkshire Hills 7th Day Adventist Church in Lanesboro. Words cannot express the sympathy we have for all the family. You all have given Norm such heartfelt care and attention while caring for him at home.
We are sure there’s a beautiful reunion up in heaven.

Sincere condolences to Norm's family . I have bowled with and against Norm. Alway good times and chats .Worked with Carol until she retired. A blessed heavenly reunion of two great people we shall miss .
