Arthur Perry, 84

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Arthur R. Perry, 84, of Adams, died on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in Winsted, CT on March 27, 1937, a son of the late Fred and Florence (Hurd) Perry. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1956. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Gordon College and a second later in life from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Mr. Perry last worked for the Berkshire Eagle and the former North Adams Transcript for many years, retiring in 2017. Earlier he had worked for Walmart and the former VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire.

He was a longtime member of the Adams First Baptist Church, where he has served as a deacon and was the former treasurer. He had enjoyed playing the Lowry Organ in the church.

He is survived by his seven nieces, Linda Blair, Gayle Galli and Dayle Lic all of Cheshire, Nancy Ritter of North Adams and Rhonda Perry, Mary Alexander and Laura Lounsbury all of Laconia, NH. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Louise Perry of Laconia, NH.

He was predeceased by a brother Albert Perry and by a sister Alice Dydowicz.

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 25th at 11:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
