Louis Alfonso, 95

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Louis Alfonso, age 95, passed away on the morning of Feb. 12, 2021, at his home in Pittsfield. 

He was born to Frank and Domenica Lapi Alfonso in 1925 and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1943. He, along with his wife Dorothy Jewell Willis Alfonso (Dotty), who predeceased him, operated Pittsfield Neon Signs, later named Alfie Signs, for 40 years. After retirement, Lou enjoyed traveling, fishing and especially painting. He completed over 100 paintings, most of which he kindly gave away to the subjects of his portraits.

Lou is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Fox (Dan) of Florida, and Deb Creer (partner Kurt) in Windsor, as well as three sons Larry (Linda) of Pittsfield, Kevin (partner Henrietta) of Louisiana, and David (partner Alexandra) of California. He is also survived by two granddaughters Christina and Marie-Claire Alfonso, eight grandsons Daniel and Tyler Fox, Scott, David and Evan Creer, and Jordan, Jason and Hayden Alfonso, and five great-grandchildren Sasha and Emma Fox, and Walter, Wesley and Grace Creer.   

In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Daniel and Frank.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Carol Ann, five brothers Leonardo, Anthony, Joseph, John, Emilio, and a sister, Alice Liccardi.

Private services were held on June 12, 2021.
