Doris A. Rougeau, 94

ADAMS, Mass. —It is with great sadness that our Mom has passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on November 14, 2021. Doris was born on August 4, 1927 to William and Lillian (Paradis) St. Hilaire. She was a lifelong resident of Adams where she attended local schools and was a communicant of Notre Dame Church -St. John Paul II Parish. Our Mom married the love of her life, Wilfred J. Rougeau, on September 11, 1948 . He preceded her in death on March 2, 1980. Our Mom wore many hats in her lifetime being a wife, mother, sister and friend. She worked at the Adams Laundry, aided the elderly at the Adams Rest Home and made dozens of pizzas at Matt’s Pizza. Her last job was serving coffee and lending an ear at The Convenient Store. Her favorite past time was crocheting many items for family and friends and playing “double solitaire” with whomever would join her. She would always win or cheated her way to victory. Sadly, she leaves behind her five daughters, Patricia Rougeau, with whom she made her home, Mary Hunter (Donald Hanson) of Pittsfield, Lynne Mix (Stephen) and Catherine Wandrei (Thomas) of Savoy and Paula Saville (Scott Trumble) of Dalton. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Thomas and Jeremy (Leah) Wandrei, Rebecca Hunter; Emily (Patrick), Joseph (Corinne), Mitchell (Liz) and Renee Saville. Along with her precious great grandchildren, Hailey, Aisling, Caoilinn, Tristan, Kalle, Noah, Hunter, Joshua and Quentin. Doris also leaves her sisters Gabrielle Downey of Pittsfield and Sr. Patricia St. Hilaire of Manchester, NH. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Roma Tanguay, Rita Rose, Phyllis Kirch, Wm. Rolland, Vincent and Clement St. Hilaire. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18th, at 10:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St, Adams, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at Notre Dame Church, Adams. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery. A calling hour will be Thursday from 9:30 until 10:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Western Mass, 55 Church Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. So sorry for your loss. Doris was a wonderful lady! I recall her working at the Convenience Store in Adams. She was a hard worker and she was like a coffee shop bartender who would have to listen to everyone's worrys and troubles throughout the day. Doris would do anything to help you. But cross her and she would let you know that she is a force to be reckoned with. They don't make 'em like that any more. God Bless you Doris. May she rest in peace.
