Geraldine DeRose, 81

 

Geraldine F. "Geri" DeRose 81 of Pownal, VT. Passed away on Thursday November 11, 2021 at North Adams Commons. She was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada on August 10, 1940 a daughter of Francis and Florence (Newell) Rickert. Geri attended schools in Canada. She was employed for many years at Sweetbrook and Sweetwood Heath Care Centers in Williamstown as a certified nursing assistant.

Geri was very active in the in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, she enjoyed traveling, bowling and spending time with family and friends. Her first husband Charles DeRose died March 13, 2010 and her second husband Langdon Bedell died May 15, 2011.

Survivors include her two sons Michael DeRose of Georgia and Larry DeRose and his wife Michelle of North Adams. Daughter in law Susan DeRose and six grandchildren Alicia DeRose, Ryan DeRose, Shane Fuller, Amber Fuller, Chad DeRose and Nicholas DeRose and many great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister Irene Murphy and two brothers David and Angus Rickert, stepchildren Langdon Bedell Jr., Terrance Bedell and Susan McCauley and five step grandchildren Sharon, Jennifer, Dominica, Nichole and Cara. Geri was predeceased by a son Joseph DeRose, two sisters, Loretta Linthorne and Joan Penney, two brothers Doug and Fred Rickert and longtime friends William and Dolores St. Pierre.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Geraldine "Geri" DeRose will take place Friday November 19, 2021 at 10AM in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for Pop Cares through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
