Ronald Paul Major, 69

PLAINFIELD - Ronald Paul Major, 69, of Plainfield, MA passed away November 8, 2021 at his home. Born In North Adams on February 26, 1952, son of the late Norman and Marjorie Daniels Major he was a graduate of Charles H. McCann Technical High School in North Adams, in the electrical program.

For several years Ronald was employed for the Welltech oil Drilling Co. working in several states, he later became a finish carpenter for the New England Carpenters Union, retiring in 2009. In his earlier years he worked in the family business, the former Wilners Bakery in Adams, and also worked as an arborist for the Asplundh Logging Co.

Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Kyla Major of Adams, Kenna Major of Plainfield. Three sisters, Beverly Major of Plainfield, Barbara White of Balston Spa, NY, Carolyn Swiatek and her husband Walter of Burlington, VT. A granddaughter, Geralyn Tucker, two nieces, two nephews and also his only surviving uncle, Robert Daniels.

A reception in memory of Ronald will take place Sunday, November 14, 2021 at noon at the Pub 116 (formerly the Hilltop Restaurant) 788 West Main St., Plainfield. Donations in his memory can be made to Beverly Major, 787 West Main St., Plainfield, MA 01070 to be used for Ronald’s funeral expenses.

The TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams is in charge of arrangements.
