Mary Shirley Battis, 89

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —  Mary Shirley Battis, 89 of Clarksburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday November 3, 2021. Ms. Battis was born on May 19, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Purcell and Agnes Battis. She attended North Adams schools and graduated high school with high honors from Drury High School. Mary (Shirley) Battis was employed at Sprague Electric Transistor Assembly Department for many years as well as Carol Cable in Vermont.

Mary Shirley Battis is survived by Bruce and Angela Maxwell, Stanley Maxwell, Kathy Maxwell and Craig and Paula Maxwell. Shirley was preceded in death by her former husband Stanley Maxwell, her son Marc Maxwell and her siblings: Marion Battis, Francis Purcell Battis, John Edward (Ted) Battis, Nelson Battis, Ruth Battis, Sterling Battis, Russell Battis, Betty Battis, and Robert (Bud) Battis.

Mary Shirley Battis was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Our beloved Mary Shirley Battis enjoyed listening to music, dancing, knitting, meditating, and spending time with her family. She is now the biggest guardian angel to all who knew and loved her.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Shirley Battis will be Friday November 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 10-12.

Bruce ,Stanley and Craig, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. What I remember most about her was her laugh and smile. She had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. I hope your dancing in the sky Shirley until we all meet again.
