Robert W. LaBonte, 68

SAVOY, Mass. —  Robert W. LaBonte, 68 of Savoy, MA died on Thursday October 28, 2021 at BayState Franklin Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident in Shelburne.

He was born in North Adams, MA on May 19, 1953, a son of Raymond A. and Beatrice G. (Monette) LaBonte. He attended local schools including McCann Technical High School.

Robert was last employed by Holland Company in Adams where he worked for many years until his retirement. Before that, he worked at Rouse Transportation in Canaan, NY. He loved his sidekick, his dog Squirt. He went almost everywhere with Robert. Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He also took pride in maintaining his property. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

His wife was Barbara I. (Bolte) LaBonte who died on May 28, 2018. They were married on August 10, 1974. Survivors include one daughter- Bobbie Jo (Timothy) Hurley of Pownal, VT; and two sisters including Gail Dorval of Prescott, AZ and Kathleen Dix of North Adams; three brothers including David LaBonte of North Albany, NY; Daniel LaBonte and Raymond LaBonte, both of Savoy and several nieces and nephews. His son, Brandon LaBonte is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Robert LaBonte will be celebrated Saturday November 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Spruce Corner Cemetery in Savoy. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4-7 PM.
