Request for Statements of Interest to Purchase 147 Acres of APR Land
 
MDAR is seeking a formal statement of interest from individuals or entities that can accept an assignment under the Commonwealth's ROFR of the right to purchase the Bardin APR property in Dalton, MA. The submission deadline is December 15, 2023, at 5:00 pm.

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources ("MDAR") is the holder of a recorded Agricultural Preservation Restriction ("APR") with Right of First Refusal ("ROFR") on 147 acres of land, in Dalton, MA ("Premises") that is currently being offered for sale to MDAR for $150,000. As part of the assessment process for assigning its ROFR, MDAR is seeking formal Statements of Interest from individuals or entities whose:

1. Intended use of the Premises includes furthering the purpose of the APR,
2. that are qualified and capable of accepting an assignment of the Commonwealth’s ROFR,  and
3. are capable of completing the purchase of the Premises by March 20, 2024.

This request provides details on the process for submitting a Statement of Interest.

Property Description

The Premises is approximately 147 acres of land, comprising 20 acres in open hayfield and 120 acres in woodland, with no structures, in Dalton, Massachusetts situated on North Street, being Dalton Assessor’s Lot #213-4-0, 215-12-0, and 215-26-0.
