Pittsfield Flags At Half-Mast For Fallen Blue Angel Pilot

Pittsfield – In honor of U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kevin J. Davis, who was killed when the jet he was piloting crashed during a Blue Angel air show near Hilton Head, SC, city Mayor James M. Ruberto has ordered all flags in the City of Pittsfield to be flown at half-staff until Davis burial.
Davis was born in Pittsfield on June 10, 1974 at Berkshire Medical Center/Pittsfield General Unit and attended Pittsfield Public Schools, including Pittsfield High School until 1991.
His father, John, served as the principal of Taconic High School and later as the superintendent of the Pittsfield Public Schools.
Davis graduated from the Embry Riddle Aeronautic University, Daytona Beach, FL, then went on to officers training school in Pensacola, Florida. Davis flew missions over Afghanistan for the U.S. Military. In 2004, Davis graduated from the Navy Flight Weapons School and was chosen as a member of the Navy's elite Blue Angel pilot team in 2005.
