North Adams - Those with a hunger for stage lights are encouraged to participate in a Mill City Productions community theater group open audition for the musical "Pippin."
The auditions are set for Sun. March 18 and Mon. March 19 with March 21 callbacks.
Auditions will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in North Adams.
Bring Vocals and Dancing Feet
Community members high school-aged and older are sought for a variety of roles. Performers with a dance background are particularly encouraged to audition, but everyone is welcome regardless of level of dance experience.
Those interested in auditioning are asked to prepare approximately 30 seconds of a song of their choice. They are invited to bring sheet music for piano accompaniment, but it is not required.
Performers will be asked to read from the "Pippin" script and try some dance steps with the show choreographer. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.
"Pippin," which opened on Broadway in 1972, is a Stephen Schwartz musical about the son of King Charlemagne, who, after graduating from college, struggles to find his true calling in life. Humorous, sometimes dark, and occasionally ridiculous, the shows' features range from existential dilemmas to an audience sing-a-long.
