Bennington - The Bennington Museum will hold an Antiques Roadshow-style appraisal fair on Sat., March 24 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m..
Appraisals are $5 per item, with a limit of 5 items.
The appraisal fair is being held in conjunction with "Bennington Collects", an exhbit at the museum which concludes April 4. "Bennington Collects" is a community-based exhibition that shows the collections of town residents.
Area residents are encouraged to bring family heirlooms or odd, quirky pieces that have generated curiosity. Three professionals will be at the museum to explain and evaluate your items.
Charles Flint, of Charles L. Flint Antiques in Lenox, MA , has an impressive background and knowledge of antiques. He has performed appraisals and authentications for many museums, as well as private collectors and insurance companies. A member of the New England Appraisers Association, his particular strengths are 17th to 19th century oil paintings, early furniture, revolutionary and civil war items, toys, dolls, games, paper and rare books, clocks and barometers, and numerous other areas.
Mary Anne Lukas is the owner of Southern Vermont Auction Gallery in Dorset, VT. Southern Vermont Auction is a full service auction which runs once a month. SVAG has over 15 years of experience in evaluating, marketing, and selling auction items. Lukas offers appraisals of personal property, artwork, antiques, and decorative objects.
Kevin Armstrong, of Armstrong Jewelers in Bennington, is an expert in jewelry appraisal. Armstrong developed a passion for fine craftsmanship and jewels at an early age.
Years of perfecting his technical abilities show in every piece of jewelry he creates. Armstrong does estate and jewelry appraisals from his shop on a regular basis.
