Grand Gala At Bennington Museum12:00AM / Thursday, December 07, 2006
Bennington, Vt. - As a fabulous end to the three weeks of holiday activities and excitement that was part of the Festival of Trees, the Bennington Museum will hold the Grand Gala Finale on Friday, December 15 from 7 -10 p.m..
This sparkling event is the final chance to bid on the luxurious gifts, holiday decorations, and decorated Christmas trees that have been donated as part of the museum's silent auction. The auction, the museum's biggest fundraiser of the year, includes trees of all sizes and themes, gifts, and certificates.
Looking for something extra special? There are also "ultimate gifts" such as a scenic plane ride, a pearl necklace and bracelet set from McWayne Jewelers, and a Dessert of the Month Club! These items and many more, are all one-of-a kind. You are sure to find the perfect gift for that special someone.
Begin the evening with delicious appetizers and a cash bar. Enjoy the holiday ambience of the beautifully decorated museum, as well as music from 7:30 - 9:30 with the Marina Carter Duo, playing piano and bass. Wrap up the evening with the announcement of the auction winners. Maybe you will take something home!
Tickets to the event are $30/person or $50/couple and can be purchased by calling the museum at 802-447-1571. Reservations are not required, but are suggested.
Stop back at the museum on Sun., Dec. 17th at 2 p.m. for an unusual performance of the Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol", performed by the Bare Stages Company.
Artistic director Chris Berks sees audience participation as an essential part of each production and enjoys making theater accessible to children.
The performance is $ 2/person for members and $ 5/person for non-members. Children under 12 are free.
