Williamstown - Police spent two hours at seven accident scenes this morning as winter weather driving conditions slicked highways during the morning commute.
A two-car collision along Cold Spring Road just south of the Coyote Flaco restaurant sent one person to the Berkshire Medical center with serious injuries, police said. Police are not releasing the identity of the person, who was driving a 2003 southbound Dodge Neon that police said crossed the centerline and struck a 1997 Geo Metro being driven by Stephen Sneed of Williamstown.
Police said that both vehicles were totaled during the crash and were towed from the scene. The crash was reported at 8:15 a.m..
At 8:40 a.m., a 2002 Hyundi being driven by Alison O'Grady, 46, of Williamstown, traveled off of Syndicate Road and became stuck. The vehicle was towed to the roadway. O'Grady was not injured during the accident, police said.
At 8:41 a.m., a 1999 Chevy Cavalier driven Katie Martin slid off Green River Road just south of Hopper Road and struck two utility boxes, a sign and a tree before coming to a stop. Martin and an unidentified passenger were not injured, according to police.
Martin's age and address were not disclosed by police.
Town police were called by North Adams police at 9:03 for assistance with an accident on Massachusetts Avenue. North Adams police said that 39-year-old Dena Kuza of 30 Fisk St., Adams, was driving a 2005 Toyota east when she lost control of the vehucle. The vehicle flipped up onto its' side, police said. Kuza was taken to North Adams Regional Hospital, according to police.
Shortly after being asked to assist with the city crash, at 9:07 a 2000 Subaru driven by 41-year-old Juana Vandestadt slid off Syndicate Road and caused minor damage to some shrubbery and the vehicle. Vandestadt was uninjured in the accident, police said.
At 9:20, a northbound 2003 Honda driven by Hilary Alton, 55, of North Adams,slid off of Southworth Street and struck a street sign. Police said that the vehicle sustained damage to its' radiator.
Alton was not injured, police said.
At 10:08. a 1996 Audi driven by 78-year-old Elizabeth Myers of Pittsfield slid off of Gale Road and became stuck. The vehicle was towed back to the road and Myers was uninjured during the accident, police said. |
