Pittsfield - The City of Pittsfield’s Artscape Committee invites sculptors from the Berkshire region and beyond to submit public art pieces for jurying consideration for Artscape’s 06-07 public art program in downtown Pittsfield. Jurors will be nationally recognized curators and arts administrators.
Entries must be original works of art and appropriate in scale for the location where they are to be placed. Durability and sturdiness are important given that it will be exhibited outdoors. Materials that can be used include strong metals, stone, wood and plastic.
Outdoor sculptures juried into the exhibition are placed in downtown Pittsfield for a period of one year, and are available for purchase while on display. Artists receive an honorarium.
Submissions should include the artists’ resume and artistic statement, as well as images of the artwork, dimensions and materials. Artwork will be on exhibit for a period of one year. Deadline for submission has been extended to September 1, 2006 for jury consideration for October installation.
