Superior Court Briefs: February 20 - February 21
Cases heard before Judge John Agostini on Thursday, February 20.
Chad Foley, 18, of Lanesborough had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on single counts of rape and abuse of a child, no force, and indecent assault and battery on a child.
He was released on personal recognizance. The incidents allegedly occurred in Pittsfield between August 1, 2012 and August 5, 2013 involving a girl who is 13 years ago.
Kaja Wright, 34, of Cheshire pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
She was placed on one year probation. The charge stems from the execution of a search warrant at 169 Pecks Road in Pittsfield on December 14, 2011. A single count of conspiracy to violate drug laws was dismissed by the state.
Clifton Sumlin, 42, of Bronx, N.Y. pleaded guilty to single counts of distribution of cocaine and drug violation within a school zone.
He was ordered to two years at the Berkshire County House of Corrections on the school zone charge and a one day sentenced on the distribution charge. Sumlin sold cocaine in North Adams on September 18, 2007.
Matthew Hadsell, 35, of Pittsfield pleaded guilty to single counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws, to wit: possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws, to wit: possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws, to wit: possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
He was sentenced to 154 days at the Berkshire County House of Correction. Hadsell conspired with others to sell drugs in Pittsfield on February 23, 2011.

Larry Jones, 52, of Pittsfield pleaded guilty to a single count of indecent assault and battery on a person who has attained age 14.
He was sentenced to 418 days at the Berkshire County House of Correction. Jones sexually assaulted a 40-year-old woman in Pittsfield on December 31, 2011.
