Flynn & Dagnoli Wins in John Giorgi League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The John Giorgi Summer Basketball League managed to get one game in on Sunday evening before dampness on the floor at the Armory forced the second two scheduled games to be rescheduled.
 
Lawrence Carrier scored 21 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked a shot to lead Flynn & Dagnoli to a 70-52 win over Mingo's/Greylock Bowl and Golf.
 
Four Flynn & Dagnoli players finished in double figures. Mike McMahon scored 17 to go with seven boards, and Dean Steinman and Brandon Eastman scored 12 and 11, respectively.
 
For Mingo's, Kollin Allard scored 18, and Seth Shepard had 12 points and six rebounds.
 
A good game between Berkshires Finest and Key West was called at half-time when the playing conditions became unsafe. Berkshires Finest led, 28-27.
 
That game and a contest between Moresi and BFAIR will be made up at a later date.
     

Hoosac Valley Boys Top Greylock in Giorgi League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Jameson Coughlan and Peter Barrow each scored 13 points to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 42-32 win over Mount Greylock in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League High School Division on Thursday night.
 
Austin Milesi scored nine and grabbed seven rebounds for the Hurricanes.
 
Michael McCormack scored 14 and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, and Aaron Ronnow scored eight for the Mounties.
     

McCann Tech Boys Top Hoosac in Giorgi League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Shane Fuller scored nine points to lead the McCann Tech boys basketball team to a 38-36 win over Hoosac Valley in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League on Wednesday night.
 
Cristian Montoya and Kevin Dowling scored five points apiece in a balanced scoring attack for the Hornets.
 
Jameson Coughlan scored a game-high 11 points and grabbed five rebounds for Hoosac, which got six points from Peter Barrow.
 
In the Open Division on Wednesday night, David Vidal scored 32 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Key West to a 53-36 win over Maselli & Field.
 
Mike Vadnais scored eight points for Key West.
 
Tim Bornt scored 19 points, and Tim Maselli had six for Pete's.
     

McLauglin, Kegresse Lead Tony's Electric to Win

NORTH ADAMS -- Courtney McLaughlin hit a late lay-in to stem a comeback bid and lead Tony's Electric/Flynn & Dagnoli to a 51-44 win over Mount Anthony Union High School in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League on Tuesday night.
 
McLaughlin scored 13 points with six boards for Tony's, which got a game-high 17 from Courtney Kegresse.
 
Mount Anthony rallied back from a double-digit deficit to get within five points with less than a minute to go before McLaughlin scored in the post to provide the final margin.
 
Taylor Paquin scored 10 for the Patriots, who got nine points, five boards and two blocks from Carly Rogers.
 
In the opener of Tuesday's double-header in the Women's Division, Alia Curry scored 18 points, and Megan Vaughn had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Williamstown Physical Therapy to a 60-40 win over Teddy's Pizza.
 
Holly Steinman had a double-double for Teddy's with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Meredith Sullivan scored nine points.
     

Pomales Leads Berkshires Finest to Giorgi League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Eddie Pomales scored 22 points scored 22 points to lead Berkshires Finest to a 78-43 win over BFAIR/North Adams Law in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League Open Division on Monday evening.
 
Joe Wiggins backed up Pomales with 17 points, and Brandon Cassella added 13.
 
For BFAIR, Brian Dowling scored 11 points, and Brett Denning scored nine to go along with eight rebounds.
 
In High School Division play on Monday night, Mount Anthony of Bennington, Vt., defeated McCann Tech, 64-44.
 
Devin Babson scored 13 points, Ty Champagne had 12, and Matthew Anderson scored 10 for the Patriots.
 
McCann's Shane Fuller scored 12.
