LUDLOW, Mass. – Izabela Tart hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh to tie the game, and the Hoosac Valley softball team Tuesday went on to a 17-15 win over Ludlow.

Tart’s round-tripper plated Ella Bissaillon and Genevieve Lagess to make it 15-15.

Rachael Wnuk then doubled, and she came home on a two-out single by Alayna Shears to give the Hurricanes the lead for good at 16-15.

Shears went to third on a single by Ashlyn Lamke and scored when Gracelyn Wright worked an RBI walk.

The Lions put two runners on base with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but Wright got a ground ball out back to the circle for out No. 2 and ended the game with a grounder to Wnuk at second.

Tart went 2-for-3 with four RBIs in the game. Wnuk was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and Lagess was 3-for-4 with a triple and a pair of RBIs.

Wright went the distance in the circle, striking out seven.

Hoosac Valley improved to 10-3 with the win, securing a berth in the Division 5 State Tournament.

It will work on improving its seeding on Thursday at home against Mount Everett at Russell Field.
