Taconic Boys Edge Pittsfield at Monument Meet

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Elijah Harewood and Anthony Trapani Wednesday split the 100 and 200 to lead the Taconic boys track and field team to a 72-69 win over Pittsfield at Monument Mountain.

 

Harewood won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.41, six hundredths of a second ahead of his teammate Trapani.

 

Trapani answered with a win in the 200, hitting the tape in 23.45 seconds, 14 hundredths ahead of Harewood.

 

Lenox and host Monument Mountain also competed at the four-team event.

 

Monument Mountain’s boys had a pair of double winners: Everett Pacheco in the 1600 and 3200 and Oliver Berkowitz in the long jump and triple jump.

 

In the girls meet, Pittsfield, Monument Mountain and Lenox each picked up a win.

 

The closest girls dual meet was between the Millionaires and Generals, where Lenox won, 74-62.

 

Lenox’s girls won the 4-by-400 and 4-by-800 relays and picked up individual wins from Genevieve Collins in the discus and Sai Meesala in the javelin.

 

Monument Mountain’s Lily Haskins-Vaughan had a big day on the track and in the field, winning the 200 dash, high jump and triple jump. Her teammate Amelia Desilets doubled in the 800 and 1600.
