WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Junior middie Michael McCormack scored six goals and assisted on two more to lead the Mount Greylock boys lacrosse team to a 17-4 win over St. Joseph on Tuesday afternoon.

Cole Hughes scored four times for the Mounties, who had seven different players score a goal.

"We did a lot of things well," Mount Greylock coach Brandon Asplundh said. "Overall, I thought both teams were pretty rusty, but that's to be expected."

Matt Malloy and Liam Chenail each had a pair of goals for Mount Greylock. Cole Jackson, Sean McCormack and Kevin Alberti scored one goal apiece.

Brandan Faas had two goals and two assists, and Sam Thomason scored twice for the Crusaders.

Wyatt Porter stopped 11 shots in three quarters in the St. Joseph goal before Christian Garner came on to make one save in the fourth.

Cal Filson and Pat Storie split time in the Mount Greylock goal; each had one save.

"That will be the plan most of the time, although I have to go with whoever I think has the hot hand most of the time, which is difficult because they're both very good," Asplundh said of his goaltenders.

"It puts me in an incredibly tough spot, but it's a good problem to have."
