Nettie E. Mullett, 97
FLORIDA, Mass. - Nettie Elizabeth Mullett, 97, of Florida and North Adams died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at North Adams Commons. She leaves 97 descendents.
Born in Florida in 1912, daughter of Harvey and Laura Hawes Burdick, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Mullett was employed as a cook at the Whitcomb Summit for more than 20 years and at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams until her retirement.
She was a member of the Florida Baptist Church and the Florida Ladies' Aid Society. Her life was devoted to raising her eight children and be loving grandmother to her multitude of grandchildren and descendants.
Her husband, Alfred Mullett Sr., is deceased.
She leaves four sons, Alfred Mullett of Readsboro, Vt., Earl Mullett and William Mullett, both of Florida, and Daniel Mullett; two daughters, Nancy Bellows and Pearl Mullett, both of North Adams; a brother, Rufus W. Burdick of Florida; four grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Lena Hurlbut, son Kenneth Mullett, sisters Dolly Viner and Genevieve Greb, brothers William, Ralph, Chester, Frank, Robert and Lyman Burdick, and grandsons Roy Mullett, Roger Hurlbut and William Mullett Jr.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mrs. Mullett will be Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. at Florida Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to the Florida Senior Center or the Florida Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
