South County Overnight Construction Operations

LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing lane closures on I-90 eastbound and westbound for rumble strip installation, guardrail installation, and other maintenance work. 
 
The work will take place from Monday, Nov. 4, through Friday, Nov. 8, during nighttime and daytime hours.
 
The schedule and locations are as follows:
 
Otis/Blandford
  • Rumble strip work and miscellaneous cleanup will occur on I-90 westbound from mile marker 21.0 to 27.0, Monday night, Nov. 4, through Thursday night, Nov. 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, Nov. 8.
  • Rumble strip work and miscellaneous cleanup will occur on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 21.0 to 27.0, Monday night, Nov. 4, through Thursday night, Nov. 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, Nov. 8. 
Lee
  • Tree trimming will be performed on I-90 westbound at mile marker 9.8, Monday, Nov. 4, through Thursday, Nov. 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
 
Stockbridge
  • Milling operations underneath the guardrail will take place on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 5.6 to 7.0, Wednesday night, Nov.  6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, Nov. 7.
West Stockbridge
  • Guardrail installation and precast barrier installation will be conducted on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 0.8 to 3.0, Monday night, Nov. 4, through Thursday night, Nov. 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, Nov. 8.
  • Guardrail installation and precast barrier installation will be conducted on I-90 westbound from mile marker 0.8 to 3.0, Monday night, Nov. 4, through Thursday night, Nov.  7, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, Nov. 8.
  • Bridge joint repair will be performed on I-90 westbound at mile marker 2.5, Wednesday night, Nov.  6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, Nov. 7.
 
Drivers traveling through these areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
 
Signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work areas.

South County Household Hazardous Waste Collection

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — There will be a hazardous waste collection on Saturday Nov. 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Great Barrington Transfer Station.
 
The event is open to residents of Alford, Becket, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Marlborough, Otis, Richmond, Sandisfield, Sheffield, Stockbridge, Tyringham, Washington and West Stockbridge. 
 
Pre-Registration is required.
