B&B Micro Manufacturing Recognized At Manufacturing Awards Ceremony
WORCESTER — B&B Micro Manufacturing has been recognized for its leadership skills and dedication to Massachusetts' manufacturing industry.
The Adams-based company, which is one of the largest micro-manufacturing businesses in the country, was presented with a citation from the Massachusetts State Senate at an awards ceremony during 8th Annual Massachusetts Manufacturing Awards Ceremony held in the DCU Club at Polar Park in Worcester.
State Senator Paul Mark, D-Becket, nominated B&B Micro Manufacturing.
"B&B Micro Manufacturing is an exciting local company finding success by tackling one of the most important issues of the day, the need for quality affordable housing," said Senator Mark. "I applaud the company for their good work supporting our region through innovation, partnership with the community, and manufacturing a great product right here in Massachusetts."
The event was held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and hosted by the Legislature's Manufacturing Caucus, which is co-chaired by State Senator Paul Feeney, Foxborough, and state Rep. Jeffrey N. Roy, Franklin.

Sponsored by MassMEP and MassTech Collaborative, this was the third time the event was held at Polar Park.
This year's Mash-Up was the largest in the history of the event with more than 1,500 people in attendance. The statewide manufacturing celebration connects members of the manufacturing community together to collaborate, build partnerships, exchange ideas, and celebrate innovation in priority, high-growth industries.
Representative Roy said that manufacturing output in the state is at its highest level in history and accounts for about 10 percent of the economy and employs about 7 percent of the workforce with $56 billion in manufactured goods exported from Massachusetts each year.
"During the 8th Annual Manufacturing Awards Ceremony, we celebrated 68 manufacturing awardees from across the state of Massachusetts. These are truly great companies who make our economy soar and contribute to these statistics," said Representative Roy. "These manufacturers are examples of what it means to make it in Massachusetts."
Christine Nolan, Director for the Center of Advanced Manufacturing and Kathie Mahoney, President and CEO of MassMEP offered remarks at the ceremony along with Brooke Thomson, President of AIM. Senate President Karen E. Spilka and Secretary of Housing & Economic Development Yvonne Hao addressed the audience via pre-recorded video.
The Manufacturing Caucus was formed in August 2014 and includes 71 legislators from all over the state. Lawmakers focus on training for manufacturing employees; encouraging innovation by helping start-ups access resources; and expanding apprenticeship opportunities in key manufacturing sectors.
