MassDOT to Host Virtual Design Public Hearing for in Lee
LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will host a virtual Design Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m. for the proposed project to replace the single span bridge located on Meadow Street over Powder Mill Brook in Lee.
The purpose of the hearing, which is being held live on the MassDOT website, is to present the design and provide an opportunity for members of the public to become fully acquainted with the project.
The existing bridge span will be lengthened to 64' to provide a wider hydraulic opening for Powder Mill Brook and scour counter measures will be installed. The project will not significantly change the existing geometric layout of the roadway. However, the horizontal alignment will be slightly adjusted to improve the existing irregular roadway layout at the bridge and the vertical profile will be raised to accommodate the proposed bridge structure.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The town is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT's policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the hearing.
This hearing is accessible to people with disabilities. MassDOT provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of charge upon request (e.g., interpreters in American Sign Language and languages other than English, live captioning, videos, assistive listening devices and alternate material formats), as available. For accommodation or language assistance, please contact MassDOT's Chief Diversity and Civil Rights Officer by phone (857-368-8580), TTD/TTY at (857) 266-0603, fax (857) 368-0602 or by email (
