More Storms in Store For Berkshire County

Berkshire County residents can expect high temperatures this week but a relatively cooler weekend.
 
Today Thursday, July 27, expect temperatures in the high 70s with storms. AccuWeather reports that storms could bring flooding downpours, hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado.
 
There is an area flood watch in effect from 9 am to 10 pm. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. 
 
On Friday, July 28, expect mostly cloudy weather with temperatures in the high 80s. 
 
Temperatures will drop drastically Saturday with a high of 78. Showers can be expected as some thunderstorms. AccuWeather predicts high winds and potential flash flooding 
 
Sunday will be sunnier but still cooler with a high of 76. Expect showers later in the day.

North Adams Warns Residents of Lead Pipe Survey Scam

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The City of North Adams is warning residents about scammers exploiting a city-run lead pipe survey project.

As mentioned in a letter sent to city residents, the city is undergoing a lead pipe survey. Since then, some residents have been contacted by scammers claiming to be part of the survey and looking for financial information.

Officials emphasized that the survey is free, and the city is not making phone calls to residents at this time. 

Residents are urged not to share financial details over the phone. Anyone receiving such calls should report the incident immediately to the North Adams Police Department at 413-664-4944, extension 1.
