North Adams' State Road Gets New Paving This Week

Print Story | Email Story
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The road work — and traffic jams — on State Road will be over by next week.

Warner Bros. Construction will begin paving Route 2 over a four-day period so motorists should be aware that delays and backups are likely.

Work began on this section of the state highway between the Sacco Bridge and the Williamstown line about two weeks ago. The roadway was milled and will be paved as part of a $5.8 million state project that includes sections of Route 2 over Florida Mountain. The work is being federally funded.

Warner Bros., the contractor for the project, said paving will begin on Wednesday and continue through Friday. The final paving will occur on Monday next week before the company heads to Florida for paving that section.
