Dewey Presents Considering Your Community Presentation and Concert

SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Folk duo Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards will continue Massachusetts Walking Tour in Sheffield Friday, May 20 from 7 to 9 pm at Dewey Hall.
 
The Massachusetts Walking Tour strives to celebrate local artists and to help raise awareness of recreational greenspace throughout the state while its core group of musicians walks with instruments along the chosen tour route.
 
The first 20 tickets sold will be subsidized by LCC grants and will be $10. The remaining tickets sold will be $18 in advance and $25 day of/at the door
 
Mandeville and Richards will first offer a 45 minute presentation and 15 minute Q&A where they will discuss:
  • how to consider your community when planning events
  • how to collaborate with a variety of others towards creating an enriching public event for your town
  • promoting your event in a realistic and manageable manner
  • obtaining funding for your event
 
The discussion will be followed by a concert by Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards, performing music from their three studio albums.

MassDOT: South County Daytime Lane Closures

LEE, Mass. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced the following lane closures will be in effect along I-90, in Becket and Lee, from Monday, January 27, to Friday, Jan. 31.

  • Becket: Lane closures on I-90 eastbound and westbound, at mile marker 18.4, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from Monday, Jan. 27, to Friday, Jan. 31.
  • Lee: Lane closures on I-90 westbound, at mile marker 9.9, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from Monday, Jan. 27, to Tuesday, Jan. 28.
  • Lee: Lane closures on I-90 eastbound, at mile marker 9.9, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from Wednesday, Jan. 29, to Friday, Jan. 31.

These closures are necessary to facilitate bridge maintenance and repair work.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. 

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. ?
