With the help of federal and state funds, the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission is trying to make streets safe and equitable for all modes of transportation.
On Saturday, the Pittsfield Community Design Center founder Nicholas Russo led a walking group through a portion of the corridor to show issues with navigation. The procession began at Dorothy Amos Park.
Participants will gather at Dorothy Amos Park at 310 West St. and walk a loop crossing through the streets and over crosswalks to show presence in a section of the city's streets that many fear crossing.
