Theodore Earl Peer

Theodore Earl Peer, 76, of Montgomery, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday at home. Born in Washington on Oct. 20, 1928, son of Carl H. and Evelyn Shantz Peer, he attended schools there. He had resided in Westfield for most of his life, until moving to Montgomery in 1992. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Peer owned Peer Brothers Trucking with his brother, the late Carl W. Peer, in Westfield for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion. He leaves his wife of 53 years, the former Kanella Phillips. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Theodore Peer, who died April 12, 2005, will be Saturday, April 16, at 10:30 from FIRTION-ADAMS FUNERAL SERVICE, 76 Broad St., Westfield, followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Noble VNA and Hospice, 77 Mill St., Westfield, MA 01085. He also leaves an aunt, Edith Peer Bartsch of Washington; nephews, Carl C. Peer and Jon H. Peer; a sister-in-law, Julia Peer, all of Westfield, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. He also was predeceased by a brother, Carl W. Peer, and a sister, Barbara Pachinchuk.
