Raymond St. Jacques, 65

FLORIDA, Mass. - Raymond St. Jacques, 65, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011. Born in Boston on Feb. 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Marie J. Lefebvre St. Jacques. He moved to South Williamstown at the age of four and attended Williamstown schools. Mr. St. Jacques entered the workforce at the age of 16, when he took his first job working on Phelp’s Farm in Williamstown. He spent his entire adult life working as a mechanic and machinist for various local companies. He spent the last nine years of his life building armored vehicles for Lenco Industries in Pittsfield. He was known by family and friends as a hard worker with great mechanical ability; throughout his life he shared his love for tinkering, fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association, part of the North Adams Catholic community, and he volunteered for Eucharist Adoration at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Survivors include Judith Gross, his loving wife of 44 years, his son Todd and his wife, Patti Jo, his son Shane, his daughter Melisa Gargano and her husband, Andrew, and two grandsons, Nicholas and Dean St. Jacques. Other surviving family members include his younger brother, Louie, his aunt, Gertrude Fields, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his loyal beagle, Duke. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph St. Jacques and a sister, Anna Mae O’Neil. FUNERAL NOTICE: - The funeral for Raymond St. Jacques will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at 10:15 a.m. at Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial take in the spring. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department or the Town of Florida Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
