Cecile I. Tatro, 81

STAMFORD, Vt. - Cecile Irene Tatro, 81, of 211 Lincoln Road died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in North Adams on April 29, 1929, a daughter of Oliver and Leonie Rougeau Rondeau, she attended schools in Stamford and Drury High School in North Adams, Mass. Mrs. Tatro was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 45 years, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church in Stamford. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. During her illness, she was cared for in her home by her caregivers and grandchildren Darlene Arnold Lapierre, and Matt and Tommy, and by Tara. Her first husband, Stanley Tatro, whom she married in 1947, died in 1969. She leaves her former husband, George Pratt of Pownal, Vt.; two daughters, Bette Arnold and her husband, Lawrence, of Stamford and Kathleen Western and her husband, Michael, of Deland, Fla.; four sons, David Tatro and his wife, Donna, and Michael Tatro and his wife, Janie, all of Stamford, Robert Tatro of Bennington and Gary Tatro of Summerfield, Fla.; two sisters, Theresa Dix of Clarksburg, Mass., and Rachel Tatro of North Adams; two brothers, Daniel Rondeau and Wilfred Rondeau, both of Stamford; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by seven brothers, Joseph, Felix, Oliver, Thomas, Roger, Ernest and Francis "Pete" Rondeau; two sisters, Doris Roberts and Olive Rondeau; and her son Gary's late wife, Barbara Rondeau. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Tatro will take place Thursday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro, Vt. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 4 to 7:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for Shriners Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
