S. Donald Esposito, 76
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — S. Donald "Pesco" Esposito, 76, of 88 Lincoln St. died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 10, 1935, son of Frank Esposito and Anita Leonesio Esposito Milesi, he graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1952.
He served with Company K of the Mass. National Guard.
Mr. Esposito worked at Green Mountain Race Track for 30 years and at West Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., for 14 years.
He was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. He enjoyed sports and served on the North Adams Parks and Recreation Committee. He helped organize the North Adams Little League, for which he was a former coach and statistician. For many years, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida, where he would watch spring training for Major League Baseball. He was a member of the Old Timers Club.
He leaves his companion and caregiver, Helen Perry of North Adams; his sister, Marie Moon of North Adams; three brothers, Peter F. Esposito and Francis W. Esposito, both of North Adams, and Jack Esposito of Rye, N.H., and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Esposito will be Monday, Jan. 17, at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the North Adams Little League in care of the funeral home.
