Donald J. Carver, 70
CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Donald James Carver, 70, of 162 River Road, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at County Memorial Hospital in Washington Court House, Ohio.
Born in Dalton on May 25, 1940, son of Donald M. and Minnie Chivers Carver, he attended Lenox schools.
A veteran of the Coast Guard, Mr. Carver was employed as a truck driver with A to Z Transport for the past 10 years. Before that he worked as a truck driver with Lawry Freight. He enjoyed working on engines.
Survivors include his wife, the former Karen A. Gaddy; a son, Donald J. Carver Jr. of North Adams; three daughters, Robin Carver and Wendy Carver, both of Sheffield, and Leeann Carver of North Adams; three stepchildren, Owen Morris of Clarksburg, Craig Morris of North Adams and Christine Smith of Northampton; four adopted children, Cove Massey-Carver, Trinity H. Massey-Carver, Cameron Morris and Meagan Morris, all of Clarksburg; a sister, Bette Smith, and her husband, Al, of Lenox Dale, and several grandchildren
A stepdaughter, Lori Morris, died on Sept. 10, 1999.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mr. Carver will be Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9 to 11. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home.
