Phyllis I. Foisy, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Phyllis Irene Foisy, 87, of 16 Milton Drive died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on March 17, 1923, a daughter of Napoleon and Olive Davis Lamoureaux, she attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School. She lived in Adams for 28 years. Mrs. Foisy was employed at the Signet Club in Adams. She first worked at the former Grant Store on Main Street and later at the former A&P Supermarket and at the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. While in Adams, she attended the former St. Thomas Aquinas, where she was president of the Rosary Sodality and a member of the Altar Guild and of Court Sancta Regina, Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading the Bible every day and participated in prayer groups for more than 30 years. Mrs. Foisy was a former member and secretary of the North Adams Garden Club, helping to construct the garden on Union Street. She enjoyed bowling. She and her husband, Raymond G. Foisy, were married on July 4, 1953, in North Adams. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Patricia Ann Price and her husband, William, of Hampton, Va., and Sandra Jean Alfonso and her husband, Frank, of Pittsfield; a sister, Carolyn Wittkowski of Belefonte, Pa; seven grandchildren, Spencer, Richard and Michelle Sample, David Skorupski, Keith and Randy Wroblewski and Amber Frederick, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Lee on Nov. 11, 1954, and her brother, John Lamoureaux. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Foisy will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
