Beatrice M. Hill, 92

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Beatrice Mary Hill, 92, of Village East, Mohawk Trail died Monday, Dece. 6, 2010, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on Dec. 21, 1917, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Bouchard Champagne, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former St. Joseph's School. Mrs. Hill was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. for 43 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary Post 996, the Sprague Quarter Century Club and the Sprague Retirees Club. Her husband, Kenneth Whitney Hill, whom she married on Oct. 28, 1939, died June 30, 1986. She leaves two daughters, Beverly DeSanty and her husband, Ernest, of North Adams and Linda Hill of North Adams; six grandchildren, Kenneth W. Shade, Lynn Marie Green, David Shade, Dennis Shade, Michael DeSanty and Mark DeSanty; 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchild and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Irene Boucher, Leo Champagne, Francis Champagne and George Champagne, and a grandson, Ernest Michael DeSanty. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will take place Friday, Dec. 10, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Elizabeth's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
