Dick was a good friend of my father's (Joe Ames, Sr.), who died in 1970). He was also a fellow letter carrier in Berkshire County.(He carried in North Adams and I worked in Pittsfield). We met a few times at Union Meetings in Pittsfield and Dick always had a smile and liked to kid with his friends alot.

He was a true American hero and veteran of the Korean conflict. I salute him for his service to our country and my heart goes out to his children and grand-children.
